The purchase process of Paddy and Bajra crops is progressing smoothly in Haryana. As per the directions of the Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, every single grain produced by the farmers will be procured.
For Paddy and Bajra purchase, a payment of Rs.8931 crore has been made directly into the bank accounts of the farmers. Out of which Rs.8084 crore has been paid to Paddy farmers and Rs.847 crore to Bajra farmers.
Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that the purchase of Paddy and Bajra in the ‘Mandis’ is ongoing smoothly during the procurement season.
So far 45,50473 metric tonnes of Paddy has arrived in various ‘Mandis’. Out of the total arrival, 43,02418 metric tonnes of Paddy has been purchased by the agencies at MSP.
Continuous lifting of Paddy from the ‘Mandis’ is also being ensured. At the same time, so far 43,0193 metric tonnes of Bajra has arrived in various ‘Mandis’, out of which 41,7771 metric tonnes of Bajra has also been purchased at MSP.
The spokesperson said that due to the facility of online gate passes this time, farmers are getting a lot of convenience in selling their crops.The government is providing a minimum support price of Rs.2300 per quintal for common Paddy and Rs.2320 per quintal for grade-A Paddy.
The entire procurement process is being closely monitored by senior officers as well.
Maximum purchase of Paddy in Kurukshetra district
The spokesperson said that 962575 metric tonnes of Paddy has arrived in the ‘Mandis’ of Kurukshetra district, out of which 935432 metric tonnes of Paddy has been procured.
Similarly, 808728 metric tonnes of Paddy has arrived in the mandis of Karnal district and 7,94,323 metric tonnes have been procured. In Kaithal district, 7,86,955 metric tonnes of Paddy has arrived in the mandis, out of which 772039 metric tonnes have been procured.
In Ambala district, out of 519087 metric tonnes of Paddy arrival, 474075 metric tonnes of Paddy has been procured. Out of 513520 metric tons, 480191 metric tons of Paddy has been procured in the mandis of Yamunanagar district and out of 459677 metric tons in Fatehabad district, 409851 metric tons of Paddy has been procured.
Apart from this, 173479 metric tonnes out of 158599 metric tonnes in Jind district, 141838 metric tonnes out of 115694 metric tonnes in Sirsa district, and 71,091 metric tons out of 82021 metric tons in Panchkula district have been procured.
Mahendragarh leads in Bajra arrivals and procurement
The spokesperson said that Mahendragarh has received the highest quantity of Bajra, with 106,732 metric tons arriving at its mandis, of which 105,841 metric tons have been procured.
Similarly, in Rewari district, 95,130 metric tons of Bajra have arrived, with 94,115 metric tons procured. In Bhiwani, 68,545 metric tons of Bajra have arrived, with 65,780 metric tons procured.
