The Haryana Government has invited nominations for recommendations of esteemed Padma Awards, including Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri till August 15, 2023. These awards hold significance as they are among the highest civilian honours and will be given on the occasion of Republic Day, January 26, 2024.
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the recommendations for the Padma Awards ould be sent to the Political Branch politicalbranch@gmail.com by August 15, 2023. Only nominations submitted online will be considered, and any received after the deadline will not be taken into account. He informed that Online nominations/recommendations have been started for the Padma Awards-2024 to be announced on the occasion of Republic Day in the year 2024. The last date for nominations for the Padma Awards is September 15, 2023. Nominations/recommendations for the Padma Awards will be received online at the National Awards Portal https://awards.gov.in.
The Padma Awards, namely Padma Vibhuan, Padma Bhuan, and Padma ri, are recognized as the highest civilian awards of the country. These awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day to acknowledge exceptional achievements and contributions in various fields such as Arts, Literature, Education, Sports, Medicine, Social Work, Science and Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and Industry etc. These awards are open to individuals without any discrimination based on race, occupation, position, or gender. He informed that the government is determined to make the Padma Awards People’s Padma. Nominating person could attach an explanatory testimonial (maximum 800 words) clearly mentioning the specific and other achievements/services of the recommended person in the concerned field/discipline. A concerted effort ould be made to identify talented individuals from among women, weaker sections of the society, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, persons with disabilities and selfless service to the society, whose excellence and achievements truly deserve respect.
