Haryana Minister of State for Education, Seema Trikha said that the true goal of schools is not just to impart bookish knowledge but also to instill values and strengthen moral character.

The objective of schools is to foster a sense of respect for the nation among children, she said while addressing a district-level School Management Committee (SMC) training-cum-conference in Fatehabad district today. She also inspected the exhibition set up by the students.

Trikha felicitated students who performed exceptionally well, along with officials of the school management committee and education department officers and teachers, by presenting them with certificates and shields. She directly interacted with the SMC presidents and invited their suggestions.

She emphasized that the main objective of the SMC is to oversee the schools and assist the teachers. Therefore, they should work towards the school’s progress by establishing strong coordination with the school principal and headmaster.

She highlighted the significant role of parents and teachers in nurturing children. If there is proper harmony among the three, children will definitely progress.

The Education Minister mentioned that the government is seriously considering providing residential facilities for the watchmen and cleaning staff in schools that are two acres or larger so that these employees can take care of the school’s security and cleanliness efficiently.

Trikha added that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is also continuously striving to provide quality education. She urged teachers to instill a sense of patriotism in children. Children should possess a love for the country, and a better environment should be provided to them for this purpose.

The Education Minister mentioned that on June 5, on the occasion of Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

The SMC and parents should also plant trees under this campaign in schools. She expressed happiness that 98,000 trees have been planted in the schools of Fatehabad district so far under this campaign.

She also urged everyone to plant a tree in the name of their children.
