HAFED Records Impressive Profit of Rs 207 Crore

The Haryana Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal disclosed that HAFED has secured a substantial order to export 65 thousand metric tonnes of rice in the current year.

While interacting with the media persons here today, he said that HAFED (Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation) has achieved a remarkable profit of Rs. 207 crore during the fiscal year 2021-22, with a turnover of Rs 1700 crore. This significant achievement includes the successful export of 20 thousand metric tonnes of rice.

While apprising the efforts being made by Milk Society to produce high-quality products, ensuring the welfare of farmers engaged in milk production, he highlighted the successful implementation of the Sanjha Dairy Scheme during a recent press briefing. The scheme aims to support landless cattle herders by constructing sheds in villages, providing them with the necessary infrastructure to produce milk. These shelters will offer animal fodder and veterinary facilities, ensuring the well-being of the cattle.

The Sanjha Dairy Scheme has been launched in five strategic locations across the state, including Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Jind, and Bhiwani. By empowering animal rearers with these dedicated spaces, the scheme fosters self-sufficiency and economic growth within the community. He said that the ongoing efforts to enhance the dairy sector’s infrastructure. The milk plant in Ambala is being relocated to better serve the needs of farmers and cooperatives, while new milk chilling centers are under construction in Ambala and Sirsa. These initiatives aim to streamline milk production and distribution, ensuring that farmers receive the necessary support and facilities.
