Firing incident in Ferozepur ahead of Panchayat elections raises security concerns

Ferozepur, September 30

A firing incident at the BDPO office in Ferozepur has been reported just before the Panchayat elections. Allegedly, the shooters fled in a Scorpio vehicle, causing a brief roadblock.

While no official confirmation has been provided, the incident is believed to be linked to a dispute over the upcoming elections involving 835 Panchayats and over 500,000 voters.

No injuries have been reported, but a viral video on social media shows a person identifying Harpreet Singh Sandhu, a former Sarpanch, allegedly taking a bag from the Secretary. Sandhu is said to be from Mohrewala village. But no one has been injured in this incident.

Despite pre-election orders to deposit weapons, this incident highlights a failure to comply, raising concerns about law and order in the area.
