Ferozepur police seized 22 stolen mobiles, 2 held in 48 hrs

In 48 hours, the Ferozepur police solved the snatching incident of 32 mobiles valuing Rs.32 lacs, with the arrest of two accused and recovery of 22 iPhone mobiles/

Divulging with details, Surendera Lamba, SSP Ferozepur said, due to festival season, the police have made elaborate arrangements to maintain the law and order in the district. Flag marches, suspicious people checking and patrolling in congested areas are going on. Even the night duty, the special ‘nakabandi’ from 8 pm to 8 am at 20 points in the district is also active being supervised by one gazetted officer and five cops.

He informed that on October 17, 32 mobiles were snatched by unknown persons, from Pardeep Singh, owner of a mobile shop near Puda colony, behind the Central Jail, at around 9 pm, when he was heading towards his home by closing the shop.

He said, a case under Section 379B was registered and a team was constituted under the supervision of DSP Surinder Pal Bansal along with Gurpreet Singh, SHO City. However, with the assistance of technical tools and sources, the police the accused were traced within 48 hours, identified as Momal Preet Singh of Sodhi Wala, Gurjinder Singh alias Jashan of Hasan Dhut, Krnpreet Singh alias Karn of Dulchi Ke and Sukhmanpreet Singh of Ali Ke. Komalpreet and Gurjinder Singh were arrested on October 19 and 22 stolen mobiles were recovered from them and the motorcycle used by them. The remaining two are yet to be arrested.

SSP said, the accused will be produced in the court to get police remand for in-depth and strict investigation and more criminal clues are likely to come on surface.
