Ferozepur, Jalalabad MLAs pay floral tributes on Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Udham Singh

On the occasion of Shaheed Udham Singh’s 84th Martyrdom Day, MLAs Ferozepur Urban Ranbir Singh Bhullar, Ferozepur Rural MLA Rajneesh Dahiya and of Jalalabad Jagdeep Kamboz Goldi, paid floral tributes at the statue of Shaheed Udham Singh in Ferozepur city at the chowk named in his name.
Later they participated in the function organized at district level at Shaheed Udham Singh Bhavan in Ferozepur city.

On this occasion, they said that we should never forget the sacrifices of our martyrs and should follow the paths given by them.

They further said that Shaheed Udham Singh was born at Sunam in Sangrur district. His name is among the top martyrs of the country. Udham Singh did not let the spark of revenge for the act of massacre of unarmed and innocent Punjabis on the Baisakhi day of 1919 by British ruler Michael O’Dwyer to be extinguished from his mind for 21 years and for such a long time the revolutionary torch in his mind and this burning desire is a unique historical example. They salute the unique sacrifice of Shaheed Udham Singh and we allnvow to follow the paths shown by him.

They further said that those nations can never be slaves who always remember their martyrs. Shaheed Udham Singh had decided to take revenge for the burning bullet incident in his childhood and after many years he went to a foreign land and killed the enemy of his country.

On this occasion, various personalities were honored by Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial Trust and during the event, Dhadi Singhs, Kirtaniyas, Katha Wachaks connected the devotees with Gurbani.
