A meeting of district level advisory committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Jalandhar Maj. Dr. Amit Mahajan wherein members from different departments and organizations had deliberations of food safety. During the meeting the ADC stressed on Eat Right Initaitives which emphasizing on the training of food business operators and Pre-auditing of the Food Businesses to rectify and cover the gaps.
District Health Officer Dr. Reema Gogia informed that Hygiene rating and High risk auditing of the food businesses will also be done in coming weeks. Food Safety Department along with Municipal corporation will be doing pre audits of the selected sites for Eat Right Initaitive, she said adding on the basis of gaps found in pre audit, training of the FBOs will be done.
The DHO further mentioned that the Government is very focused in improving the safety and standards of the food being served to the public and thay in coming days, the horizon will be extended.
The FBOs are advised to get themselves registered/licensed under FSSAI which is to be displayed in the premises and the registration/license number should be displayed on the bills.
She said that the Registration/ Licence could be applied through www.foscos.fssai.gov.in or through a play store app “FOOD SAFETY CONNECT”. ID proof, Photograph and proof of premises where food business is located are mandatory documents required, she stated adding that rest of the details could be taken from the website www.foscos.fssai.gov.in
