Expedite the distribution of HAPPY cards- Haryana CM Nayab Singh directs officers

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed the officers of the Transport Department to accelerate the distribution of HAPPY (Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana) cards so that the people covered under this scheme can avail the benefit of free bus travel.

The Chief Minister gave these instructions during a review meeting of the Transport Department held here today. Transport Minister, Aseem Goyal was also present at the meeting.

On being inquired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh regarding the status of HAPPY Card distribution, officers reported that about 3.25 lakh cards have already been distributed, a total of 10 lakh cards have been printed and these will also be distributed soon.

The Chief Minister directed to launch of a dedicated campaign to expedite the distribution process for covering the remaining beneficiaries. He further directed the deployment of additional workforce for this purpose.

During the review of the concessional bus pass facility provided to 42 different categories by the Haryana Transport Department, Chief Minister Nayab Singh suggested that although the State Government has started the facility of Haryana Roadways buses for the service of the general public, the department should explore avenues for generating additional revenue through commercial activities at bus stands and other feasible means.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh also instructed swift resolution of complaints raised through Jan Samvad and CM Window, related to the department, on a priority basis emphasizing zero tolerance for delays.

He also called for the formulation of a special policy ensuring immediate treatment for individuals injured in road accidents in the state, aiming to eliminate any financial barrier to medical care.

Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary School Education Department, G. Anupama, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rajesh Khullar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Principal Secretary Transport, Navdeep Singh Virk, Director State Transport, Sujan Singh, Director Secondary Education, Jitendra Kumar, Transport Commissioner Yashendra Singh and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
