Ensuring benefits of welfare schemes to actual beneficiaries is utmost priority of state government: CM

Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that with the help of Parivar Pehchan Patra, the state government has generated 12.5 lakh new ration cards in order to fulfil its promise to ensure the reach of benefits of public welfare schemes to eligible citizens. Also, beneficiaries can visit the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner to get their BPL data updated so that they can continue to get ration benefits, said the Chief Minister while addressing people during Jan Samvad held at Ward No. 5, Karnal on Sunday.

He further shared that in an effort to include more and more low-income families to the BPL list, the state government has also increased the capping of power bills from Rs. 9000 to Rs. 12000. The Parivar Pehchan Patra has become a key document to avail the benefits of government facilities. Other states are now adopting PPP, added Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister stated that prior, the BPL cards were issued by the state government in accordance with the 2011 census. During this, there were some families who raised above this limit. Later the revised list was made so as to ensure that the eligible get the benefits, he added.

The Chief Minister said that gone are the days when the state youth used to get jobs on Parchi Karachi. Now jobs are being given on a pure merit basis.

During the Samvad, a person thanked the Chief Minister for his government’s initiative of giving jobs on merit basis as now the children of poor families do not have to pay a single penny to get a job.

Responding to this the Chief Minister said , our government has zero tolerance for corruption. No leader, officers and employees are being spared. Public cooperation is necessary to root out corruption, added Manohar Lal.

Government hospitals to be equipped with state of the art facilities

Manohar Lal said that the Haryana government is making constant efforts to strengthen the health infrastructure and in this series, state of the art facilities have been ensured in the government hospitals for the poor and needy.

A special campaign should be launched for cleaning of sewerage and STP drains

The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure that all the sewerage and STP drains of Karnal city are cleaned before the monsoon season by running a one-month special campaign so that people do not face problems during the rainy season.

Redressing the drinking water problem of the people of Ward No. 5, he directed the officers to install new tubewells during the next one month. He also directed the officers concerned that the work of laying the pipeline should also be completed as soon as possible.

The Chief Minister said that tenders for works worth Rs 13 crore regarding water and sewerage in the city would be floated on June 6 and work would be started soon after that.

Regarding the sewerage problem in Ansal City, the Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to give one week’s notice to Ansal City and find a solution to this problem by holding talks with the Municipal Corporation and Ansal City’s management so that the people do not face trouble.

Directions given to set up complaint counter in Municipal Corporation and HSVP office

Manohar Lal directed the officers of Municipal Corporation and HSVP to set up complaint counters in their respective offices and every complaint received should be resolved within a week. He also made it clear that the officers should take the complaints and problems of the general public seriously and ensure their redressal on priority basis.

“We are here to serve the people, not to enjoy power. Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi along with development projects, a significant system change has been brought for making India a superpower. Earlier leaders used to enjoy power, without paying much heed to the public welfare,” said Manohar Lal.

He said that the opposition will continue to mislead people on small issues. One needs to be careful. He called upon the party workers to take all the development works and public welfare schemes run by the government during the last 8 years among the people and ensure that they get the benefits of the government’s schemes.

Meanwhile, appreciating the campaign to change the system by the Haryana government during the Samvad, the beneficiaries said that now they are getting the benefits of ration card, Ayushman card and old age pension sitting at home, while earlier one had to make frequent visits to the government offices.
