Ferozepur, August 19
The holidays have been declared up to August 26, in Ferozepur 19 flood-affected border village government schools of the district by the District Magistrate Rajesh Dhiman exercising the powers vested under Section 144 of the Criminal Code 1973 and in keeping with the request of the District Education Officers (AS) and (SC) Ferozepur.
The holidays have been declared from 19 to 26 August, for the time being, in Govt. Schools, in villages Nihale Wala, Tendi Wala, JhugeHazara Singh,, Gatti Rahime Ke, Rajo Ke Us Paar, Bhakra, Bogi Wala, Khunder Gatti, Aalewala, Dona Mattar, Hussainiwala Workshop, Gulam Hussain Wala, Kutabdin Wali, Bare Ke, Gatti Raho Ke and Dhira Ghara
He said that the decision has been taken as per the request of the DEOs that some villages of Ferozepur district have been affected by flood due to continuous rain in the past and heavy release of water from Bhakra Dam and further from Hari Ke. Therefore, water has entered the schools and it is difficult for the students to attend the schools. However, the situation is being monitored by the district administration teams round the clock.
