Gurjot Singh (24) a devotee today died in a road accident near village pajjian on Kapurthala- Sultanpur Lodhi road near here this morning.
The victim who was going in a religious procession on foot was hit by a tractor-trolley from his back and was seriously injured . He was rushed to Sultanpur Lodhi civil hospital and doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
It is pertinent to mention here that thousand of devotees of the city and its nearby areas participate in the 30-kilometer-long foot Yatra every year for the past more than 20 years to celebrate the coming Gurpurb of Guru Nanak Dev .
As the news of his death spread a gloominess prevailed among the devotees.
Police has registered a case against the driver of tractor trolley.
The deceased belonged to Kapurthala.
