The Ferozepur police have arrested DSP Gurcharan Singh Dhariwal, posted as Deputy Superintendent at Central Jail Ferozepur on charges of supplying mobiles to gangsters prisoners in the jail.
On the complaint of Inspector Mohit Dhawan, SHO City a case against DSP has been registered under Sections 23/29 NDPS Act, 120-B IPC, 7/8 PC Act and 42 Prisons Act and further investigations are on.
As per the informationl DSP Gurcharan Singh Dhaliwal (Deputy Superintendent) of Central Jail Ferozepur has been SHO for allegedly providing mobile phones with SIM cards to jailed terrorists, gangsters and drug traffickers and charging huge money in return by a team headed by Mohit Dhawan, SHO police station Ferozepur.
Giving this information, SSP Surindera Lamba said, when the Police team City police station was patrolling and checking suspicious persons reached Bagdadi Gate area of Ferozepur city, they received secret information that the Central Jail DSP Gurcharan Singh Dhaliwal of Ferozepur, who is posted as Deputy Superintendent of Central Jail, along with his staff in the jail, provides mobile phones, Sims and drugs to the detainees and inmates on a large scale and procures drugs from drug smugglers from outside and even now the mobile numbers 96466 85719 and 9914187049 are being used inside the jail by the prisoners in Central Jail Ferozepur.
SSP said, the police also received information that DSP Gurcharan Singh Dhariwal, posted as Deputy Superintendent Jail, along with gangsters, terrorists and drug traffickers, was planning for ordering mobiles and narcotics from outside provinces and border crossings inside the prison on a large scale through drones. He said that according to the information received by the police, 20-25 days ago, DSP Gurucharan Singh Dhaliwal provided 5 mobile phones to the detainees, gangsters and drug traffickers locked in the high security zone of this jail, in return for which they took a large amount of money.
