DC releases banner to join campaign to make garbage-free Ferozepur for maintaining Swachhta Survey status

To maintain the status of first ran of Ferozepur in the state and 64th at the national level in Sanitation Survey-2022, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur Amrit Singh released a banner to join campaign to make garbage-free Ferozepur.

Speaking on the occasion, DC said, the unique initiative of making paper bags and eliminating plastic by disabled employees, was also appreciated in the survey report.

DC said, due to the hard work of the team of Municipal Council, there has been an increase in the door-to-door collection and segregation of garbage in the city. 130 compost bins are being prepared and organic fertilizers are being prepared and two MRFs are successfully running to re-cycle, re-sell and reuse the dry waste collected from the city. Around 6500 city dwellers in the city were connected with the Swachhta App. Ferozepur team created cleanliness clubs by creating awareness among the city residents and connected around 20 schools/colleges and more than 4000 city residents. Both shifts, night sweeping and mechanical sweeping also contributed significantly and citizens can register their complaints regarding cleanliness.

She also asked them to keep two dustbins of green and blue separately in their houses for cleanliness and also keep the surroundings clean.

DC appealed to the residents to continue to support the Municipal Council and district administration to maintain the survey status.
