Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Vishesh Sarangal today took a unique initiative to discourage the use of plastic by distributing steel drinking water bottles to all the staff of his office.
While distributing the steel water bottles to his office staff here on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal appealed to them to refrain from using plastic products. He said that everyone can contribute in saving the environment by opting such measures.
He further said that all the water filters installed at the DAC Kapurthala would be made functional for the convenience of the staff and general people to discourage the use of water packed in plastic bottles.
Deputy Commissioner said that in the near future, a similar initiative would be taken at the sub-division level also.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Paramjit Kaur, SDM Sultanpur Lodhi Chandra Jyoti, SDM Kapurthala Lal Vishwas Bains were also present on the occasion.
