Khushdeep Kaur, a student of the School of Hotel Management & Tourism of Desh Bhagat University won the medal in the Grand Finale of the national level chef competition “Better Kitchen Bakery Championship” held at IHM Mumbai. To shortlist the finalists, chef competitions were held across various regions of the country.
For the Punjab region, Khushdeep Kaur was the winner and was invited for the finale in Mumbai. She prepared the wedding cake based on the Punjabi theme. Her preparation was appreciated by the judges. The judgment of the event was done by the renowned chefs and prizes were distributed by the celebrity chef Harpal Singh. The winner was felicitated by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, and Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadawarti. Dr. Zora Singh congratulated the students and the faculty members of the department. Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the students and faculty and assured them of all the support from the university for such activities. Dr. Aman Sharma, Director of, the School of Hotel Management & Tourism motivated the students to participation in competitions and develop a competitive spirit. Chef Rinku Singh coordinated and represented the university at the competition.
