The Kapurthala administration organised the first cycle rally to bring enthusiasm about ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan 2022’ which would be started on September 13 from Guru Nanak stadium Kapurthala.
Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal along with his family participated in the cycle rally, which was based on the theme to save Environment and Good Health.
Starting from Red Cross Office Kapurthala at 6 am, the cycle rally passed through DC Chowk, Kanjili Road, Kanjili Wetland, Amritsar Chungi, and ended back at Red Cross Office.
Deputy Commissioner has informed that the district administration organized this cycle rally as part of activities to make as many people aware of the district-level sports starting from September 13 at the local Guru Nanak Stadium.
It is worth mentioning here that more than 5000 students and people of different age groups would be participating in the district-level games being held from 13 to 21 September.
The winners of these competitions will participate in state-level competitions. Earlier, more than 7000 players participated during the block-level competitions conducted from August 29 to September 6.
Deputy Commissioner also announced that various sports activities such as cricket, badminton, and volleyball have been drawn up for the good health of government officials and employees.
During the cycle rally, the chairperson of Red Cross Kapurthala Dr. Preet Kanwal said that the activities have been planned out by the Red Cross to help out budding players who are also needy to buy sports equipment so that they bring laurels to the state.
On this occasion, SDM Lal Biswas, Assistant Commissioner Upinderjit Kaur Brar, District Public Relations Officer Subeg Singh Dhanju, Superintendent Satbir Singh, Dr. Sandeep Bhola, Red Cross Secretary R.C. Birha, and many employees participated.
