Curtains fell for 7th edition of spark career guidance mela in Jalandhar

The curtains of the seventh Spark career guidance mela fell today with a commitment to making concerted efforts for transforming the destiny of the students of the district in the coming days.

Presiding over the event, Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh said that Spark aims to sensitize the students about the opportunities in various fields adding that it was the need of the hour as children were the future of the country. He said that the youth have boundless energy, which could be aptly utilized for the welfare and development of the country.

The Deputy Commissioner said that sole aim was to enable the students from rural areas to have access to quality career guidance so that they could opt for their career thereby paving way for their bright future. Singh expressed hope that the event would act as a catalyst in making the youth active partners in economic and social growth of the state.

The DC said that besides giving a major push to career-related guidance to the students this fest would ensure holistic personality development of the students. He said that major thrust of the event was to ensure quality career guidance to the students, who were on cross-roads for choosing their career. The Deputy Commissioner further reiterated his commitment to holding more events to guide students from career standpoint.

In his address, Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mahajan called upon the students to fix their targets and then make whole hearted efforts for attaining it. He categorically said that the students have to now compete with their peers from across the globe so they should be fully equipped to meet this challenge. He said that there was no scope for lagging behind in this highly competitive era.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also felicitated the officers and other dignitaries for making the event a huge success. The Chief guest also honored the representatives GNA group, HDFC bank, IVY World School, St. Soldier Group, besides other sponsors.
