Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wishes all the people of our country including Punjabis ‘Eid Mubarak’. Saturday on the occasion of Eid, the Chief Minister reached Idgah in Jalandhar to pay obeisance there and prayed to Allah for happiness, peace and prosperity of Punjab.
Addressing the people on the occasion, Mann said that I am extremely honored to be among you. May the unity and brotherhood of Punjab always prevail.
Mann said that Punjab is the land of gurus and martyrs. Our gurus have taught us love, brotherhood and to stand by the truth. That’s why the seeds of violence and hatred can never flourish here in Punjab.
Citing the example of two MPs from Punjab, Manish Tiwari from Anandpur Sahib and Mohammad Saddiq, MP from Faridkot, Mann said that despite being a Sikh dominated area, there are MPs from Hindu and Muslim communities because the people of Punjab don’t discriminate with anyone on the basis of caste or religion. This is the specialty of Punjab.
Mann said that I have never done politics of caste and religion. Before as an MP from Sangrur and now as the Chief Minister of Punjab, I have always worked for the welfare of the common without bringing caste and religion in this matter. The aim of our government is to bring equality in the society by providing good education to all the children and equal opportunities to the youth with common background. Progress of any society is only possible through quality education.
