Baljit Singh Channi, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) newly elected Mayor of Moga Municipal Council, met Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday. The Chief Minister congratulated him for the victory. Moga MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora and MLA Davinderjit Singh Laddi Dhons were also present with him on the occasion.
Addressing the media on the occasion, MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora said that the Chief Minister has assured to provide adequate funds for the development of Moga Municipal Council area. The Chief Minister has also given a gift to the youth of Moga, he has assured that the Punjab government’s first UPSC training center will be set up in Moga.
MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora said that our Mayor Baljit Singh Channi comes from a common family. She said that the Aam Aadmi Party gives opportunities to common people in politics, that is why today Baljit Singh has become mayor. On the other hand, people with money are given preference in other parties, so most of their MLAs and MPs are from rich families.
