Chandigarh University to host FAP National Awards 2022; 279 teachers & 140 students from private schools to be awarded

To recognize the teaching methodologies and commitment of teachers in shaping young minds and the academic excellence of students from private schools, the Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab (FAP) will be hosting the second phase of FAP National Awards 2022 on 3rd & 4th December 2022 at the campus of Chandigarh University, Gharuan.

Best Teacher Award and Pride of Punjab Award for Students will be given to deserving candidates from all over India. The FAP National Awards will be inaugurated by Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister Government of Punjab on 3rd December, while the closing ceremony will be presided over by Harpal Singh Cheema, Minister of Finance, Government of Punjab, on 4th December 2022.

The other dignitaries, who would be joining the FAP Awards 2022, will include Vivek Atray (former IAS & Motivational Speaker) and Fr. Jose Aikara, Former Chairman of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). This was informed by the President FAP, Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri.

While speaking about FAP National Awards 2022, Dr. Dhuri said, “Private schools play a crucial role in the education of the students, and FAP Awards 2022 is constituted for rewarding their immense contribution. Last year, FAP Awards were given to best schools, best teacher, and best principal of private schools from the state of Punjab only. But, this year the scope of awards for 2022 has been broadened with applicants of awards from all over India.”

Dr. Dhuri said, “In the first phase of FAP Awards this year, the awards for best school in nine categories and best principal were given to applicants across India. In the phase two, the best teacher award in four categories and Pride of Punjab Award to students in three categories. A total of 279 teachers and 140 students of private schools from various states will be awarded during FAP Awards.”

He further stated, “Under the teacher awards category, Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to 46 teachers from Punjab and 14 teachers from other states who are in the age group of 55 to 58. Best Teacher Award and Dynamic Teacher Award will be awarded to 52 teachers from private schools in Punjab, whereas 14 teachers from other states of India will be bestowed with the award. Apart from this, Most Inspiring Teacher Award will be given to 40 Punjab-based teachers and 7 from other Indian states selected through Mega Olympia Combat.”

Dr. Dhuri further informed, “This year Pride of Punjab Academic Award will be given to students of 2021-22 batch with more than 99% in Class 10 and 12 board exams. Other awards for students include Mega Olympia Combat Championship for three state toppers and Sports Awards for students with ranks in national-level events.”
