Chandigarh records 33% growth in GST collection in Nov 2022

Chandigarh, January 3

The Excise and Taxation Department of Chandigarh Administration has registered a growth of 33% in the gross GST collection for November 2022.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the collection stood at Rs. 218 crores which is 33% more than Rs.164 crores collected during the same month last year.

In the 3rd quarter of the year 2022-23, the U.T. has witnessed 18.77% growth in the GST collection. It stood at Rs.595.65 crores, which was Rs.94.13 crores more than the revenue of Rs.501.52 crores generated during the 3rd quarter of last year.

In the 2nd quarter, the U.T. has registered 20.55% increase in collection, it stood at Rs.561.04 crores which was Rs.95.63 crores more than revenue of Rs.465.41 crores generated during the same quarter a year before.

A growth of 29.04% was witnessed in the 1st quarter of the year 2022-23 with a collection of Rs.585.45 crores, up from Rs.453.69 crores collected during the same quarter last year.

With a gross GST collection of Rs.1742.14 crores, the U.T. has registered a robust growth of 22.63% up to December 2022 in comparison to the revenue generated last year. The Ministry of Finance releases state-wise growth of GST revenues on monthly basis.

Dr. Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary-cum- Secretary Taxation informed that the Excise and Taxation Department, UT Chandigarh has collected the revenue of Rs.1489.55 crores on account of GST as compared to Rs.1089.22 crores collected last year.
