Chandigarh, October 29
Amid protest by the Opposition, nine nominated councillors were administered oath of office by Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh at the Municipal Corporation (MC) House here today.
Both AAP as well Congress councillors boycotted the ceremony, alleging the nominated councillors had association with the ruling BJP.
Wearing black ribbons, AAP councillors sat on the floor outside the Mayor’s office and raised slogans against the BJP. City AAP chief Prem Garg was also seen outside the Mayor’s office.
