Chandigarh Mayor elections: Drama erupts before voting

Chandigarh, January 17

The drama begins before the start of the vote process as AAP councilors object on the presence of nominated members (councilors) in the House.

The councilors of BJP and AAP will vote, while Congress and SAD councilors abstained from voting. Both parties have 14 members. A party needs at least 15 votes to win the Mayor post.

From BJP, Anup Gupta is the candidate and from AAP, Jasbir Singh Laddi is in the race.
