BSF holds Yoga Camp to celebrate Int’l Yoga Day at Joint Check Post Hussainiwala

On Monday, the Border Security Force (BSF) – known as the first defence line of India, held a Yoga Camp, ahead of the 9th International Yoga Day, at Joint Check Post, Hussainiwala, in which around 200 jawans participated. The event was held near the Shan-e-Hind Gate near the Zero Line facing Pakistan Check Post manned by Rangers. The 9th International Day of Yoga is being celebrated on June 21, 2023.

Speaking on the occasion, the BSF spokesperson said, “This year’s International Day of Yoga (IDY) endeavours to connect with a larger global community, as India’s G20 presidency theme “One World, One Health’ resonance with the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.

He said, yoga helps in achieving physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, and its ability to foster a balanced attitude towards everyday life, enhancing skill and performance.

The celebrations of the event are to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of practicing yoga. The day began to be observed in 2015. However, June 21, was selected for observing this day as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and also has a special significance in other parts of the world.
