Bhakra Dam just 2 feet below danger level, nearby villages flooded

Due to the increase in the water level of Bhakra Dam has remained less than two feet below the danger level and the water coming from the river Sutlej and flooding the nearby villages.

Villages including Nangal, Bhalan, Bhanam, Jindwadi, Dhyan Bela, Bhaldi, Allagra Sahpur Bela, Nangra, Golhani Tau and dozens of other villages that are near the Sutlej river are under threat.

“1 lakh cusec being released from Bhakhra and 1,60,000 from Pong Rain in Himachal Pradesh has stopped.Dam levels are to be brought down to safe levels at a rapid pace,” stated the official statement.
