Annual Sports Meet was held at Govt. High School, Sector 38B, Chandigarh on Thursday. On this special occasion, an active worker of different NgoryGOs and national awardee Astinder Kaur was invited as the chief guest. The Headmistress Gursimar Kaur declared the sports meet open and students participated with great enthusiasm. Harcharan Singh, president of the ‘Srishti Karma’ NGO was also present on this occasion. He motivated the students to participate in different sports events. At present, he is giving free-of-cost sports training to school students. The school DPE Kapil Gambhir put special efforts to make this event successful. Bhagat Singh house bagged the trophy for the best house. The chief guest along with the Headmistress distributed the medals to the winners.
Prince of class VIII and Khushboo of class VI won the best athlete prize in junior category(boys) and junior category(girls) respectively. Manisha of class X and Sooraj of class X were declared the best athletes in senior category(girls) and senior category(boys) respectively.
Students participated in different sports events like relay race, sack race, shot put, 100m race, 200m race, 400m race and long jump. Refreshments were distributed among the students by the chief guest and the school staff. Different events were also organised for the teachers and they participated with great zeal.
