The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab launched a blistering attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal leaders for assisting drug mafia to establish and flourish in the state. AAP said that earlier Akali Dal used to give patronage to the drug mafia, now sons of their leaders are selling the drugs like chitta (heroine).

Former Akali Dal (Badal) minister Sucha Singh Langah’s son Prakash Singh Langah was found selling drugs in Shimla. The Himachal Pradesh police also recovered 42 grams of the heroine from Prakash Langah and his friends. It is not the first time Prakash Singh Langah is arrested for selling drugs, he was also arrested in a drug case by Punjab Police on May 3, 2021.

In a statement, released from the party office on Wednesday, AAP minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra said that a son of a big Akali leader was arrested with chitta. We have been saying this for so long now that these people (Akali leaders and SAD-BJP government) are the reason that the drug mafia was able to establish and flourish in Punjab. They plagued the holy land of Punjab with the drugs. They propelled our state towards the financial crisis and our youth towards the drugs and ruined their lives. For such dynast politicians only their personal interests are their priority. They don’t spare a thought to anything that doesn’t benefit them directly.

The AAP leader said that Akali Dal Badal is shameless, on the one hand they are taking out a ‘Punjab Bachao Yatra’ and on the other hand their own people are being caught selling drugs. Akali dal planted the roots of drugs in Punjab, we need to save Punjab from the Akali Dal. He said that they are responsible for ruining Punjab’s youth. He appealed to the Shimla police to ensure strict action and punishment of these drug smugglers. Chetan Singh Jauramajra also warned the people of Punjab to stay away from such leaders who ruined so many lives through drugs.
