Chandigarh, November 22
Punjab has witnessed a decline of 20 percent in cases of Paddy straw burning. This has happened after three years.
According to figures, in year 2020 a total of 75986 cases were registered in paddy straw burning. In year this number was 70711 and this year 49775 cases were registered a decline of more than 20.3 percent.
Bhagwant Mann government has started awareness campaign for farmers for stopping burning of paddy straw. It has also floated term ‘Parali Dhan’ for paddy straw and also started it sending to Kerala.
