Punjab’s Jai Sodhi contesting election for Canada’s largest student union

Tikka Jai ​​Singh Sodhi from Punjab is contesting for the post of the Vice President of AMS, Atma Mater Society, the oldest student union of the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, which was founded in 1858 during the reign of the Queen.

These elections will be held online from March 1 to March 8 for the main five positions of the said student union, for which about 65 thousand students will be able to use their vote.

Jai Sodhi, the son of political face Arunjot Singh Sodhi, hails from Malout, Punjab, and has been a student of Learning Paths School, Mohali. He was also a member of the Junior India team for nearly three years in pistol shooting, which won many national and international medals.

Jai, who is pursuing a degree in economics and history at the University of British Columbia, has worked hard to promote the sport of shooting at the university over the past two years.

Four candidates are in the fray for the election of the President and three candidates are in the fray for the election of the Vice President Administration.

Through these elections, five executive positions including the President and Vice President, two Board of Governors, and five members will be elected to the UBC Senate.

The results of these elections will be out by the evening of March 8. Tikka Sodhi is getting open support from various sports clubs and many student organizations.
