Vigilance Bureau nabs Patwari for taking Rs 3,000 bribe

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its anti-corruption campaign, on Monday has nabbed a revenue Patwari Narinder Kumar alias Neeta, posted at revenue halqua Malout, Sri Mukatsar Sahib district red handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the VB said this case has been registered against the above said revenue official on the complaint of Surjit Singh, a resident village Malout in Sri Mukatsar Sahib district.

Giving details he added that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari has demanded Rs 10,000 as a bribe in lieu of mutation of his land and has taken Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 on two occasions.
