Chandigarh Administration has appointed Advocate Utsav Bains as Senior Counsel for the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB). The CHB provides is responsible for government housing and infrastructure projects in Chandigarh.
Utsav Bains is a Supreme Court lawyer who completed law from Panjab University and was a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School from 2013 to 14. He is the grandson of Justice Ajit Singh Bains, a former judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and son of noted Senior Advocate RS Bains.
Bains is currently also a Special Public Prosecutor for the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), counsel for the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).
Like the CHB, NHAI & DSIIDC is responsible for the development of major government infrastructure projects in India.
Bains has also represented victims in important anti-terror cases such as the 2019 Pulwama terror, the 1993 Bombay Blast, the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, and Kashmiri Pandit murders by terror accused Bitta Karate.
