In a proactive move, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal directly engaged with the public today, personally listening to their grievances and issuing immediate directives to concerned officials for their swift resolution.
Visiting the waiting lounge here at Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner attentively heard the concerns of the people, assuring them of appropriate solutions while reaffirming the administration’s commitment to ensuring hassle-free access to services for district residents.
Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that under the Punjab Government’s ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, officials are actively engaging with the public to resolve issues on the spot. He also stated that multi-departmental camps are being organized to provide instant solutions and citizen services.
Highlighting the district administration’s efficiency, he noted that Jalandhar has been constantly leading in achieving ‘zero pendency’ for citizen service requests. He revealed that out of 3,85,675 applications received across 35 service centers (between March 2024 to March 2025) as many as 3,61,543 have been successfully processed, with the remaining cases under review.
Reiterating the Punjab Government’s commitment to seamless citizen services, the Deputy Commissioner instructed all the officials to ensure timely disposal of pending applications and maintain a zero-pendency status. He also warned against unnecessary delays, stating that any laxity in service delivery would not be tolerated.
Notably, Dr. Aggarwal has personally been monitoring working of sewa kendras. He categorically mentioned that any inordinate delay in citizen service delivery will be highly unwarranted. Meanwhile, residents visiting the Administrative Complex with their grievances welcomed this initiative, praising it as a significant step in strengthening the connection between the administration and the public.
