one under trial today committed suicide by hanging himself in the central jail here .

Dhaliwal confirmed the suicide by the under trial identified as Gurcharan Singh (50) resident of village Bussowal falling in Jalandhar and was facing trial under NDPS act.
Dhaliwal told factnews that undertrial was brought to jail on Feb 1 by the Jalandhar police and on intervening night of Feb 2&3 he committed suicide by hanging himself with a cloth ( Parna ) in the bathroom of the barrack .
The jail authorities brought the body to local civil hospital for post morgen. Police is investigating the case.
