Severe heatwave conditions will abate from May 23: IMD

New Delhi, May 23

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that heatwave conditions are probably going to abate from tomorrow, May 23, in many parts of India. The IMD said about cities that on Monday, May 22, a heatwave alert was issued for south Haryana, Delhi, South Uttar Pradesh, North East Madhya Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal and Jharkhand.

Punjab and Haryana are also reeling under the scorching heatwaves with numerous locations recording temperatures as high as 44 degrees. However, the next five days starting May 23 evening, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh may are likely to get rain as a result of the Western Disturbance.

According to reports, Chandigarh has been witnessing rising temperatures for a few days. On Monday, the temperature exceeded 40 degrees Celsius.
