Minority community religious leaders meet PM Modi in Parliament with a message of peace, communal harmony

In a first since the opening of the new Parliament building, a multi-faith delegation comprising of 23 religious leaders representing various minority communities of the country met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Parliament House in New Delhi on Monday (5 February) under the banner of Indian Minority Foundation (IMF) and wished for his return as PM after the 2024 polls for prosperity of the country.

During the courtesy visit, the religious leaders said they have come with the message of peace and communal harmony as PM Modi has truly followed the spirit of the Indian constitution through the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas’ in the past 10 years of his regime.

They said all communities stand united under PM Modi’s leadership for the nation’s prosperity as the country is developing fast and the new India is on course to become a Vishwa Guru soon.

The religious leaders said India needs prolonged leadership of PM Modi for becoming a developed nation as he understands everyone’s pain and provides solutions to them.They lauded the decisive, all-inclusive, and visionary leadership of PM Modi that has empowered every community in the nation without any bias.

The delegation, which included leaders belonging to minority communities including Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist and Parsi, earlier met the Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankar.

They later also witnessed the proceedings of the on-going Budget Session in the Rajya Sabha and visited the Constitutional Hall of new Parliament. the IMF founder Prof Himani Sood accompanied the delegation during the visit.

Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and IMF Convenor, Satnam Singh Sandhu, who was attending the budget session, also accompanied the delegation to meeting with the PM.

The religious leaders from the Muslim community in the delegation included Chief Imam All India Imam Organization, Dr Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chairman-Chishty Foundation, Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Secretary General, Naib Sajjadanashin Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, Syed Farid Ahmed Nizami, Chairman – Hazret Baba Tajudeen Awliya Dargah-Nagpur-Maharashtra, Janab Pyare Khan, President, Tanzeemul Madaris Ahlisunat Sufi J&K UT government, Mohd Ashraf Thukroo Tanzeel, Sajjada (Gaddi) Nasheen Silsila e Khushhaliya, Hazrat Sufi Jawwad Ahmed Khushhali, Ehram Posh Faqir – Dewa Sharif Dargah – Lucknow – Uttar Pradesh, Sufi Sakhawat Ali Shah Warsi.

Religious leaders from Sikh community included Patron, Radha Soami Satsang Beas, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, Representative, Nanaksar Kaleran, Sant Baba Lakha Singh, Chief Tarna Dal (Nihang Singh), Jathedar Baba Gurdev Singh, Nirmale Sant, Baba Prem Singh Kar Sewa (Bhuriwale) and Radha Soami Satsang Beas, Bhati Centre, New Delhi, Gurminder Singh Badaisha. Jain community was represented by founder Chairman of Acharya Sushil Muni Mission, Vivek Muni Ji Maharaj, founder of Acharya Sushil Muni Mission, Goswami Sushil Maharaj.

The leaders from Buddhist community included Founder, President and Spritual Director, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Leh, Ladakh, Bhikkhu Sanghasena, former Deputy Speaker Tibetan Parliament and Senior Advisor Bharat Tibet Sayog Manch, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok and Chairman Buddhist Cultural Foundation, India, Bhante Dipankara Sumedho.
