As Lok Sabha elections unfold across the nation, the first three phases of polling have already been completed. Teachers from various regions have been entrusted with responsibilities during this crucial electoral process. However, in a hilarious outcome, reports have surfaced of a teacher who has taken an unconventional approach to avoid election-related tasks. He marked himself as pregnant in the data that was sent to the district administration.

Meanwhile, Jind Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mohammad Imran Raza has set up an inquiry. The inquiry is headed by the magistrate Namita Kumari.

According to the information available, the PG Hindi teacher Satish Kumar, posted at Government Senior Secondary School, Dahola village, allegedly showed himself as a woman and selected the option “pregnant” under his name. The data was reportedly uploaded onto the Education Department’s portal, where it undergoes verification by the relevant officials. Following this verification process, the data is submitted to the district administration for the allocation of election duties to schoolteachers.

The issue came to attention when individuals approached the National Informatics Centre (NIC), responsible for processing the data, alleging that Satish had provided incorrect information to avoid election duty. Upon investigation of the database, it was discovered that Satish had indeed been exempted from poll duty due to being a pregnant staff member.

District Informatics Officer Sushma Deswal notified the Deputy Commissioner, who subsequently called upon the teacher, school principal Anil Kumar, and computer operator Manjit. However, all three claimed ignorance of the situation. Despite this, the Deputy Commissioner initiated an inquiry into the matter.
