Bhagat Kabir Ji was a great social reformer who gave the message of truth, love, non-violence, morality, and brotherhood to all of humanity—a message that holds immense importance in today’s materialistic age. These thoughts were expressed by Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat while addressing a large gathering of devotees as the chief guest during the state-level event organized by the Punjab Government at the local Satguru Kabir Mukhya Mandir, Bhargav Nagar, on the occasion of the 627th Prakash Utsav of Bhagat Kabir Ji.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, and Mayor Vineet Dhir were also present on the occasion.
The Minister stated that Bhagat Kabir Ji’s Bani recorded in the Shri Guru Granth Sahib will always continue to guide people and give the message of rising above caste, race, and religion. He emphasized the need to spread Bhagat Kabir Ji’s message of global brotherhood to every household. He said Kabir Sahib’s verses inspire us with pure ideology, and by adopting it, we can lead a meaningful life. He also said that Bhagat Kabir Ji waged a long struggle against the social evils of the caste system, untouchability, and discrimination.
Bhagat added that communities that remember their Gurus and saints and walk in their footsteps are the ones that move forward and prosper. He mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is making significant efforts for the welfare of all sections of society by following the path of unity and social justice shown by the Gurus of all religions, including Bhagat Kabir Ji.
He also said that to fulfill the dreams of Bhagat Kabir Ji, the state government has launched special schemes to uplift the living standards of socially and economically backward people. On this occasion, he announced a grant of Rs. 25 lakh from his discretionary fund to the temple committee.
Renowned singer Masha Ali and other artists enthralled the devotees with devotional songs on the occasion. AAP leader Dinesh Dhall, SDM Jalandhar-2 Shayari Malhotra, Tehsildar Parveen Kumar Singla, Chairman of Satguru Kabir Sabha Bhargav Nagar Satish Bhagat Billa, President Rakesh Kumar Bhagat, Vice President Ravi Kumar, Treasurer Dushyant Bhagat, and Chairman District Planning Committee Amritpal Singh were also present on the occasion.
