State Govt provides financial assistance of ₹367.59 cr to 2.25 lakh destitute children: Dr. Baljit Kaur

Punjab’s Social Security, Women, and Child Development Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, stated that financial assistance has been provided to nearly 2.25 lakh children across the state.

Providing further details, Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that a total of ₹367.59 crore has been  provided as financial assistance for 2.25 lakh destitute children in Punjab.

She further highlighted that the state government had allocated a budget of ₹377.00 crore for the welfare of destitute children during the current financial year, out of which ₹367.59 crore has already been utilized for their benefit.

Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized that the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously striving to transform Punjab into a prosperous state. The financial support provided for the holistic development and welfare of destitute children is a significant step in this direction.

She also urged the department officials to spread awareness about these schemes to ensure that a maximum number of children can avail the benefits of government initiatives.
