- Directs officials to organize special camps to facilitate voters.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal on Thursday directed the officials to speed up the ongoing process for enrollment of Kesdhari Sikh as voters in view of ensuing Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (Board).
While reviewing the entire process, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal emphasized to organize special camps in coordination with religious and social organisations so as to enroll maximum eligible voters. Panchal also instructed the Sub Divisional Magistrates to depute Block Level Officers and Patwaris, where needed, to expedite the process as the last date has already been fixed as February 29, 2024.
As many as nearly 24,000 voters have been enrolled so far in the district till January 31, Deputy Commissioner also directed to the officials concerned for disseminating necessary information at grassroots level to apprise eligible voters. He said that the votes should be made strictly as per the directions by properly filling form no.1 from kesadhari Sikhs. He also directed not to accept the forms in the shape of bundle since the instructions were clearly mentioned in this regard. The forms would be taken in person from the voters by the officials, said Panchal adding that the each and every form would be recorded in the register date wise.
SDMs Lal Vishwas Bains, Jaspreet Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Jashanjit Singh, Election Tehsildar Manjit Kaur and other officials were present in the meeting.
