Ludhiana, March 13
The management of Shri Durga Mata Mandir (BRS Nagar), including chairman Ramesh Jagota, president Sunil Sharda, general secretary Harkesh Gupta, and other office-bearers, has unanimously declared their support for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha), in the upcoming byelection for the Ludhiana (West) assembly constituency.
The announcement was made during Arora’s visit to the temple on Thursday, accompanied by his wife, Sandhya Arora. Arora took blessings of Durga Mata and also performed Hawan in Baglamukhi Mandir.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Jagota lauded Arora for his selfless service to society and his dedicated efforts as an MP for the overall development of Ludhiana. He highlighted Arora’s strong social and religious commitments and noted that he is perhaps the first industrialist contesting for the MLA seat from Ludhiana (West). Jagota emphasised that voters in the constituency have high expectations from Arora.
In his address, Arora outlined his key achievements as an MP over the past three years and reaffirmed that his campaign is built on the foundation of development. He shared his vision for progress with those present and assured the Mandir management committee that he would arrange a meeting with officials from the Ludhiana Improvement Trust and the Deputy Commissioner to resolve the 45-year-old pending issue of the temple’s land registry.
Arora also urged the public to support Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s mission to eliminate drug abuse from the state, emphasising the need for a drug-free Punjab to secure a better future for the youth.
Municipal Councillor Amrit Varsha Rampal, who was also present, expressed confidence in Arora’s leadership, stating that he will transform Ludhiana (West) into “Ludhiana Best” following his victory. Arora has already pledged to develop Ludhiana into a “model city” after winning the election.
