Following the directions of Director General of Police Punjab Gaurav Yadav and Deputy Inspector General of Police Range Rupnagar Harcharan Singh Bhullar, Rupnagar Police registered 07 cases in different police stations of the district in the last 2 days and arrested 11 persons under anti-social elements campaign.
Giving details in press communique, Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana Said that Rupnagar Police is fully active against drug smugglers and anti-social elements, 1 kg 650 grams of opium, 110 capsules, 37 narcotic injections, 11250 ML. liquor and 01 country pistol 315 bore have been recovered from them. 07 cases cases have been registered against the persons under NDPS Act, Excise Act, Arms Act and Gambling Act.
He further said that the district police was conducted check posts and arrested Rajiv Chopra resident of Hussainpur Rupnagar and recovered 13 narcotic injections from him. Kamaljit Singh alias Vicky resident of village Nanakpura along with Amandeep Singh resident of village Bela were arrested and recovered 110 narcotic capsules from them.
Similarly, Kuldeep Ram, resident of Bajigar Basti Ucha village (Sanghol), Police Station Khamano, District Sri Fatehgarh Sahib was arrested and recovered 24 narcotic injections. Harminder Singh, resident of Sri Chamkaur Sahib and Jagbir Singh, resident of village Bhandodara, District Guna (MP) were arrested and recovered 1 kg 250 grams of opium. Police Station Nurpurbedi arrested Amandeep Kumar alias Aman, resident of village Brahmpur Upper, Police Station Nangal and Charanjit Kumar, resident of village Manku Majra, Police Station Nurpurbedi and recovered 400 grams of opium from them. Against whom cases were registered under NDPS Act.
He said that apart from this, Police Station Nangal arrested Harpreet Singh alias Jaggu, resident of Kulgaran and seized 11250ml liquor. A case has been registered against him under the Excise Act. Police station Sri Chamkaur Sahib has registered a case under the Gambling Act after
SSP Rupnagar has appealed to the general public to fully cooperate with the police to eliminate the scourge of drug addiction and make the society crime-free.
