To improve internal Governance by introducing reforms in the present system of governance and to use of IT tools, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Himanshu Jain on Thursday inaugurated the new office of e governance in district administration complex.
Giving further details, Deputy Commissioner said that various services are being provided in Sewa Kendras, Connect, DSD, and mSewa through the eSewa portal. The Governance Reform Branch regularly monitors eSewa pendency, as District Rupnagar consistently ranks high in eSewa pendency. The eSewa portal has received 118,226 applications, out of which 115,865 applications were disposed of in the last one year.
He said that a total of 23 Sewa Kendras have been efficiently managing services in the district. In the past year, Rupnagar district achieved a remarkable feat by securing the Top 2 position in Punjab for pendency and service delivery to citizens through the Sewa Kendra and DSD project. Out of approximately 110,000 applications received, only 1,800 were rejected due to incomplete documents, resulting in an impressive rejection ratio of just 0.1%.
Himanshu Jain said that every sub-division has made significant improvements in Sewa Kendra services, and we are excited to announce that more services will be added to the DSD project and Sewa Kendras in the future. Our goal is to ensure that every person, whether in rural or urban areas, has access to these essential services.
