Continuing the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign to eradicate drugs from the roots, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar arrested 6 accused in a single day and recovered 19.50 grams of heroin.
Commissioner of Police Jalandhar (CP) Dhanpreet Kaur informed that during the operations being conducted to completely dismantle the drug network, police teams of Police Station Division No. 1, 5 and Police Station New Baradari arrested 4 accused and recovered 19.50 grams of heroin from their possession. Three FIRs under the NDPS Act have been registered against them. Similarly, police teams from PS Division No. 6 and PS Sadar arrested 2 more accused while consuming drugs. Two separate cases have also been registered against them.
During this operation, the police admitted 3 drug addicts to de-addiction centers for treatment and rehabilitation, so that they can start a new life free from this addiction.
The CP said that our fight against drugs will continue and the police will take this campaign forward more effectively every day to make the city completely drug-free.
