January 22 (Today):
Light to moderate rain is anticipated across nearly all Punjab districts, including Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, and Mohali.
January 23 (Friday):
Heavy rain likely in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur.
Thunderstorms and strong winds expected in Majha, Doaba, and eastern Malwa regions (Patiala, Mohali).
January 24-26:
Rain will taper off, giving way to dry conditions, but dense fog will return. Visibility could drop sharply in areas like Amritsar, Bathinda, and Ferozepur.
Fog’s Ongoing Menace
In the last 24 hours, Bathinda saw zero visibility, while Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded just 50 meters. According to Weather Department Director Surender Pal, the peak cold spell has passed, and a western disturbance will bring a slight temperature rise in the coming days.
