Water level in swollen Beas river again starts rising to 1.72 lakh cusec in Kapurthala

Water level in swollen Beas river has again started rising to 1.72 lakh cusec in the mand area of Sultanpurlodhi according to official release.

Eight Lakh cusec water has increased in the river due to increase in discharge from Pandoh Dam.

Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal has indigenously manufactured a large boat to mitigate sufferings of flood victims of Baupur and other worst-affected villages.

Seechewal told that the boat was manufactured in his workshop within three days and nights working and dedicated it to the affected farmers of worst hit villages.

He disclosed that boat can carry 50 persons, combine , tractor trolley and more than three dozen animals.

The boat is designed by Sant Avtar Singh Memorial Technical Research Center which completed it in three days and three nights of continuous effort. The boat which is 34 feet long and 13 feet wide is built by six craftsmen using material that is both lightweight and durable.and boat is powered by a petrol engine.

Meanwhile ,Seechewal and his followers distributed cooked food , medicines and grocery items to the affected farmers at their houses.
