Aiming to curb the menace of corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Monday nabbed a Patwari Sumandeep Singh, posted at Bhwanigarh, Sangrur district and his private associate named Narinderpal red handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 2,500.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of VB said the above-said revenue Patwari and his accomplice were arrested on the complaint of Ajit Singh, resident of Bhwanigarh.
Giving more details he informed that the said complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above-said Patwari and his accomplice have demanded a bribe of Rs. 2,500 for mutation of his ancestral house.
After verifying this complaint, a VB team laid a trap and the accused Patwari and his accomplice have been caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs. 2,500 in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against both the accused at VB police Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
