Vigilance Bureau Ferozepur booked PCS officer on bribery charge

The Vigilance Bureau Ferozepur Range has booked PCS officer Narinder Singh Dhaliwal on the charge of taking Rs.50,000 bribe from Ranjit Singh of Mehal Kalan village in Dharamkot of Moga district in the case registered under No.96/2019 and on a compliant registered on toll-free number under number 99/2019.

According to the FIR, Ranjit Singh had opened a restaurant with Harpreet Singh of Zira on partnership deed of May 2014, on 50:50 basis.  Later on a case was registered on August 10, 2018 at Zira which was later on cancelled. Further, they had a dispute over its ownership and was moved to the court of Narinder Singh Dhaliwal who was posted as SDM Zira.  A deal was struck at Rs.2 lac and Rs.50,000 was paid to Dhaliwal on March 20, 2019 and the conversation was recorded.

The VB booked Dhaliwal on the complaint of Ranjit Singh under Section 7 PC Act 1988 as amended  IPC Amendment Act 2018.
