Reacting to the statement of BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that Jakhar once again proved that be is anti Punjab and pro BJP and dictatorship.

Releasing a statement from the party office on Sunday, AAP leader Vikramjit Singh Passi cornered Sunil Jakhar and asked him why he is always silent on the issues pertaining to Punjab but always vocal about defending the BJP. He said that today the whole Punjab is fasting to protest against dictatorship. Our CM Bhagwant Mann himself is staging protest and fasting at the land of Shaheed-e-azam Bhagat Singh Khatkar Kalan. But the BJP leader is always just making nonsensical statements.

Passi said that even in the video Sunil Jakhar’s fear and nervousness was obvious on his face. He said that people are not letting the BJP leaders enter their villages in Punjab, let alone the election campaign and thought of voting for the BJP. Sunil Jakhar is well aware that Punjab is standing firmly against the dictatorship and the political party who committed so many injustices against our state and our farmers.

The AAP leader said that it is laughable that Sunil Jakhar is talking about the soul, the same Sunil Jakhar who sold his soul and consciousness to the BJP. Passi said that Jakhar never talks about the issues of Punjab. He never raised any of Punjab’s issues in front of his government at the centre. He kept silent when Punjab’s funds were stopped, he lied about Punjab’s tableaus rejection reason, he never raised his voice for our farmers.

Passi said that it is CM Mann, first as an MP and now as the chief minister, who always guards the interests and rights of Punjab. He’s constantly fighting against the centre for Punjab and our rights. He added that the whole country is united to fight the dictatorship of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He advised Jakhar to become pro Punjab and raise voice to safeguard interests of Punjab.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is focused on the Jalandhar Lok Sabha. The party wants to win this seat again at any cost. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with party MLAs and office bearers in Jalandhar on Sunday and discussed election strategies with them.

During the meeting, Bhagwant Mann asked the party MLAs, leaders and office bearers to tell the people about the people’s welfare works and decisions of the AAP government in the last two years and to propagate them vigorously. He said that our government has done so much work in just two years that the previous governments did not do in the last seventy years. We need to tell people about our work and decisions.

Mann said that earlier Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency used to be the stronghold of the Aam Aadmi Party. Now Jalandhar has also been added with Sangrur. Now both the seats are very important for us. We have special focus on both and we have to win them at any cost. Our first priority should be to win the Jalandhar seat at any cost. Collective efforts are very important for winning any seat.

On AAP MP Sushil Rinku leaving the party, Mann said that we do not need to pay attention to him. He has betrayed the party and the public will answer the betrayer in the elections. Sushil Rinku was made an MP by the Aam Aadmi Party and got recognition, but he betrayed us. He has no personal support base.

Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, the Khadoor Sahib constituency in-charge of Shiromani Akali Dal, held a productive meeting with former cabinet minister Punjab Bikram Singh Majithia at his residence today in preparation for the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
