Bikram Majithia Jail Security Row Resurfaces

A fresh controversy has erupted over the security of Shiromani Akali Dal senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia, currently lodged in Nabha Jail. The Akali Dal accuses the jail administration and Punjab government of being indifferent to his safety.

Key Objections and Concerns

During a press conference in Fatehgarh Sahib, advocate Amardeep Singh Dharni revealed internal jail conditions:

Dangerous Inmates: Majithia complained to the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) on January 5 that hardcore criminals involved in serious offenses are housed in his barrack.
Lack of Security Gear: No CCTV cameras are installed in his barrack, which is mandatory for high-profile inmates.
Administrative Inaction: Despite raising the issue before the judge, no action has been taken to shift inmates or enhance security even after days.

Akali Dal’s Stance

Advocate Dharni issued a stern warning:

Government Accountability: Punjab government and jail department will be directly responsible for any physical harm to Majithia in jail.
Political Vendetta Claim: The party alleges deliberate placement to mentally and physically harass him.
